Message from the Chairman
Welcome and thank you for visiting the Empowering Through Education, Inc. (ETE) website. We are a unique organization, founded to assist high school students as they make the transition to undergraduate studies, and beyond. It goes without saying that it is extremely rewarding to facilitate the connection of prospective students and their families to institutions of higher learning. Further, it is our objective to empower individuals to achieve their dreams, while promoting growth and developing character. What’s more is that ETE is an Equal Opportunity program; as such, we welcome all students regardless of disability, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, sexual identity or orientation. Because brilliance does not discriminate against any one.
In as much as our program is designed for students from all walks of life, with unique hopes and dreams, we sought to simplify their search for the institutions that would help get them there. With this in mind, ETE was designed to be a convenient source for students to gain access to local, regional and colleges, universities, technical institutions and trade schools. Further, with nonprofit organizations becoming increasingly vital to a global population, we also seek to expose young adults to the ways in which they may impact our world through social service and economic development. Second, we set out to provide the perfect venue for institutions to showcase their scholarly, athletic and campus activities; appealing directly to vast pool of bright minds, eager to make the most of their educational opportunities.
Lastly, because it is our mission to ensure students are knowledgeable of the opportunities available to them, I would be remiss not to mention our commitment to disadvantaged and at-risk youth. During the critical juncture between the end of high school and making plans for the future, many of these students struggle with deciding whether attending college is realistic. For this reason we make every effort to reach out and inform them of their options for applying to, paying for and managing higher education. Through the resources we provide, we fully intend to increase the numbers of high school students applying for admissions, entering and graduating from institutions of higher learning especially at-risk students in Texas, and eventually across the country. Preparing young adults for life requires the dedication of many, and we at ETE are proud to be among them.
